About
Christian Ryan AMGP
Christian is an award winning stained glass artist working from his studio in Bridgend, South Wales. For the last twent-five years he has been commissioned to create glass artwork for the church, public projects and private commissions across the United Kingdom and abroad.
He is an Associate Member of the British Society of Master Glass Painters and a member of the Makers Guild in Wales. He was shortlisted by the Royal Society of Ulster Architects for the Integrated Art and Architecture Award for work in health centres in Belfast and is a previous winner of the Best Maker in Wales award by Craft Festival.
Past clients include Roman Catholic and Anglican dioceses, NHS Trusts, Local Authorities and national contractors.
Christian has also taught stained glass throughout his career and is currently programme lead for the Stained Glass Craftsperson Apprenticeship programme at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David in Swansea.
He is also research assistant for stained glass historian Dr Martin Crampin from the Centre for Advanced Welsh and Celtic Studies. They are currently working together on the Swansea Stained Glass Archive project.
